School Counseling Services
Classroom Guidance - I develop and conduct 45 minute classroom guidance lessons
in each classroom once a month. These lessons teach character traits including
respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness and citizenship.
• Small Group
Counseling - A small group consists of approximately 6 students
meeting with me once a week for about 8 weeks to better
understand and appreciate their unique qualities and to grow
personally and socially. Small group counseling options include
working with students to develop self-esteem, social skills and
coping with family changes. I am scheduling most small groups
during recess throughout the school year.
• Individual
Counseling - I meet with students one-on-one in my office on
an as needed basis.
• Family & Community Outreach - I help the PTA Benevolence
Committee with the November Thanksgiving food drive and the December “Light
the Way for Change” projects. I also coordinate seminars
for parents and community members.
• Teacher & Parent
Consultation - I meet with teachers and parents to identify
and remove barriers that may impede student
achievement and / or social-emotional growth.
• Enrollment
- I collect the proper documentation for registration, answer
questions and conduct a tour of our facilities
for parents and students that would like to attend Kleckner Elementary
School.
